One area I want to make routine in our home is Scripture memorization using the Charlotte Mason Scripture Memory System (watch their short video for detailed explanation). I have a burden for and enjoy helping my children hide God’s Word in their hearts! There’s so much power in bringing to their remembrance Scripture they have already memorized during teachable moments and opportunities for application.
One of the greatest challenges for me as a homeschool mom is setting up structure and routines. Though I am very resourceful, I am not creative enough to come up with my own ideas :). Finding resources like these are definitely helpful!!
Well, I am excited about this new addition to our devotion! I know it will help my boys and the whole family not only learn new scripture on a regular basis, but also review the ones we already know.
This will be a resource that will help me as an individual and also assist me in raising arrows 🙂 (Ps 127:4).
Try it out and let me know how it works for you. If you have other systems that you are using for Scripture memorization I look forward to hearing about it!
ok, I’ll look at it. Right now the only system we have is to memorize the scriptures that go with our unit. They’ll write it out while learning / practicing writing – Similar to Writing with Purpose curriculum. I’ll let you know how it goes. T*
